Sustainability
Strengthening the ‘green halo’ around the site perimeter through extensive native tree planting, helping to mitigate the visual impact of new buildings and integrate the development with the surrounding landscape. Improving landscaping along the A41 to screen and filter views, strengthening the visual quality of the site’s boundary.
Delivering dedicated staff leisure and well-being gardens, designed to support biodiversity and add ecological value, including a permanent pond to provide new habitats and promote nature-connected experiences.
Use of hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) to fuel back-up generators. HVO is not a fossil fuel (it is instead made from waste fats and vegetable oils) and is better for air quality than diesel powered back-up generator fuel.
Commitment to exploration of exportation of waste heat generated by development to nearby uses with a demand for low-grade heat.
Powering the site using 100% renewable energy purchased through the Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin certification scheme.
